Repeat prescriptions

Our walk-in service is limited on the issuing of routine repeat prescriptions to patients. This is because there is limited or no access to your clinical records, and there could be patient safety issues when prescriptions are issued by the nurses who are unfamiliar with your care and medication history.

We may refuse to issue you a prescription. The only exception will be emergency supplies of some medication that is needed for patient safety reasons. In such cases, only a small amount of medication (3-5 days) will be prescribed and you will need to see your own GP for further supplies. We will not continue to issue prescriptions to you for requested medication if you have recently received a supply from the walk-in service.

Prescriptions for controlled drugs (e.g. tramadol, amphetamines, diazepam, zopiclone,) and drugs considered to be of high risk (e.g. pregabalin, gabapentin, methotrexate, lithium, antipsychotic medication) will not be issued by this service.
