Flu vaccine
The flu vaccine is a safe and effective vaccine. It’s offered every year to help protect you from flu and its complications.
The vaccination is important because, while flu is unpleasant for most people, it can be dangerous and even life threatening for some people, particularly those with certain health conditions.
The best time to have your flu vaccine is in the autumn or early winter before flu starts spreading. We are inviting our high risk patients to book their flu vaccine first, we recommend booking an appointment as soon as possible.
Flu vaccine and COVID-19 (coronavirus)
Flu vaccination is important because:
- if you’re at higher risk from coronavirus, you’re also more at risk of problems from flu
- if you get flu and coronavirus at the same time, research shows you’re more likely to be seriously ill
- it’ll help to reduce pressure on the NHS and social care staff who may be dealing with coronavirus
- If you’ve had COVID-19, it’s safe to have the flu vaccine. It’ll be effective at helping to prevent flu.
For further information please visit the NHS website.
Due to COVID-19, we will be running our clinics differently this year. More information will be provided to patients at the time of booking.
You can book your flu vaccination via our online services or you can call the practice to book your appointment.
